Green Court

The Green Court (Images 1-4) has been called the ‘business sector’ of the monastery, as it contained many of the services vital for its work (granary, bakery, brewery, stables, etc).  With the dissolution of the monastery by Henry VIII, this area became the location of a new scholastic foundation, established with 50 ‘King’s scholars’ and hence named of King’s School.
