Dean John Boys (1619-1625), not to be confused with Sir John Boys, has an impressive tomb on the south wall of the Deans’ chapel. He preached to the newly married king Charles I and his queen Henrietta in Canterbury on 14 June 1625.
What to see (Image 1):
- the Dean sits in front of his library at the Deanery looking away from his opened book
- note his cassock (ankle length robe), gown and ruff
