Description
Masonry blocks with roughly textured or carved outer faces and recessed joints. All have particular mortar joints – these can be flush with the stone, V-shaped, concave (known as rodded), etc. Some imitations are simply plasterwork posing as stone. Banded rustication has horizontal joints but no vertical joints. More examples of chamfered rustication appear here.
